Michael Vick and racism

A week or two ago, there was a very interesting and thought-provoking article on ESPN.com about Michael Vick, the city of Atlanta, and the role that racism has played in the public response to the allegations against Vick. It is titled “A History of Mistrust,” but it was the little blurb below the title that [...]

Something that bugs me

You wanna know what bugs me? People who fling around superlatives like they have no meaning. Example 1: Greg Anthony, a former NBA player and now a basketball analyst on ESPN, was asked who he thought would win the Western Conference Finals series between the San Antonio Spurs and the Utah Jazz. In (correctly) predicting [...]

Joe Morgan is at it again…

NOTE: I started writing this several weeks ago, and while I have tried to update all the references to time, I may have missed one or two. So if something doesn’t flow right, that’s why. In mid-June on Sunday Night Baseball, Joe Morgan said the following (paraphrased): You know I think wins are the most [...]

Post-9/11 Patriotism

Today’s Pet Peeve

mis·no·mer n. An error in naming a person or place. Application of a wrong name. A name wrongly or unsuitably applied to a person or an object. A few weeks ago, I was watching Baseball Tonight, and John Kruk said: One of the biggest misnomers in baseball is that left-handed hitters can’t hit left-handed pitchers. [...]

Today’s Pet Peeve

My current pet peeve, as seen at the end of this comment on an article I read: Just my 0.02 cents.

Chase Visa made good!

Check out this email I just received from Chase Visa. It is nice to see that once you get past the bureaucracy, Chase really does care about their customers. I don’t know if they really understand my point, but I don’t really care, because they made good on their original promise.

Update on lying companies

I posted the other day about how Fieldstone Homes and Chase Visa are ripping me off and not providing the services they promised. Here’s an update:
